Orchid weekend at The World Garden, Lullingstone Castle, Kent 21-22 May


Join Tom Hart Dyke passionate orchid enthusiast for The World Garden’s first orchid weekend on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May (11am – 5pm) and its orchid house official opening.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about hardy and tropical orchids with Tom and specialist nurseries, providing informative talks & tours. The officially opening of the orchid house will be on Saturday 21st May at 1pm by Tom’s father, Guy Hart Dyke.

Visitors will be able to experience around 200 varieties of temperate orchids (10-15 degrees) and a selection of tropical fruits. An extension of the popular cloud garden, the orchid house measures approximately 15ft x 30ft.  Visitors will see orchids in their natural environments from countries such as Colombia, Panama and the Himalayas including rare trees, shrubs and vines found at high altitudes. All the orchids have been sourced and donated from the UK.

Set within 120 acres of beautiful Kent countryside, Lullingstone Castle is one of England’s oldest family estates, dating back to the time of Domesday. An historic family mansion frequented by Henry VIII and Queen Anne. Take a break in the Cafe Marquee serving a new menu with light refreshments and gluten free options, as well as many locally-sourced Kent produce.

Plant Heritage Summer Garden Party on 14th June at Loseley Park, Surrey


Plant Heritage, the plant conservation charity, is holding our Summer Garden Party with its president and TV presenter and gardener Alan Titchmarsh on June 14th at Loseley Park in Surrey.

Plant Heritage works with its members to safeguard the rich diversity of cultivated plants across the UK, through different projects such as the Plant Guardian Scheme, National Plant Collection® scheme and Threatened Plants Projects.
